February was a month of fun and growth. We started the month by sponsoring the monthly Wednesday night dinner for the church and raising around $250 to help with TNT costs. We also had a fun night out at Hendersonville Strike and Spare on the 16th. Our teens continue to grow closer to each other and are inviting their friends as well. We had one visitor this month during our midweek youth service and had two of our 5th graders join us for bowling. We talked about God’s unconditional love for us and how it is never-ending. We ended the month by introducing our new curriculum and the 8 roots of the gospel.
2024 has started off strong for our students. We have started back with our monthly activities. In January we had a fun “Bubble Night” filled with games that involved bubble gum, bubble wrap, and soap bubbles as well as Bubble Gum Floats. It was a fun time that allowed our students to know that church is a place they can come to have fun, let their guards down, and know that they are loved.
We may be a small group, but God is doing BIG things at Old Hickory Nazarene and with the tenns of OH YEAH. If your teen hasn't been in a while, or maybe never, we would love to have them join us!
Summer has sadly come to an end and school is starting back up. Whether your teen started this week or will start next week everyone will be getting back into the routine of a more structured schedule (classes, homework, extra curriculars, etc.) and we are hoping that youth group will be a priority in your schedule for your teen. This summer our teens were able to experience so much with camp, NYC, color wars, and even a glow night but the fun and spiritual growth doesn't have to stop there. We have been working hard to make sure that our teens are able to experience the things that all youth groups enjoy, even if we are a small group at this time.
Summer is finally here and that means that everyone is super busy, and this means the youth group is as well. We have so many great things planned for the teens this summer and we want to make sure your teen is involved. We had a great first month back and are enjoying catching back up with your teens. We have also made some updates to the youth area downstairs as well as added a fire pit behind the gym. We launched Color Wars on Wednesdays which has been lots of fun.
Matt and I are so excited to be once again working with your teens. We have so many great things lined up already for the summer and the coming months. We truly have a heart for your teens and helping them grow closer to Lord while also growing closer to each other. If you have any question, want to help out, or just want to stop in and say hello we are always eager to talk with you.
There will be a Zone Mission Rally at Old Hickory Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, June 13 at 6:00pm. Rob and Cindy North, Directors of University Advancement at Africa Nazarene University, will be our special speakers.
